Doug has been working in salons since his junior year in high school. He attended Cape Fear Community College and initially planned to work as an aesthetician.  He spent about a year in Raleigh as a make-up artist for Estee Lauder before transitioning to hair full-time.  He is the salon’s go-to stylist for hair extensions and highlights, a specialty honed over fifteen years at Beyond Basics. With his precision-perfect technique, he makes both extensions and hair color look natural.

Doug is proud to have overcome his ADD to excel at a job that calls for attention to detail.  He is well-known in the salon and among his clients as a trivia expert, or, as he calls it, “accumulating useless information.”  His other pastimes include cooking and shopping.
