Tony Britt-Kirkegaard
Hair Restoration Manager

Kendall lured Tony to Beyond Basics three years ago, just as Tony was weighing how best to balance his various interests and talents.  A native of Raleigh, he spent seven years in California.  There he studied Ornamental Horticultural Design at Long Beach State University, but also worked for Vidal Sassoon for almost five years.  His varied career even took him to Yosemite National Park as a guide and then to Wilmington as an interior designer.  His ultimate passion, however, became hair restoration, fueled by the fact that he himself wears alternative hair.  He is quick to let anyone who compliments his hair know how to achieve a similar look.  And his own experience with wearing alternative hair makes him especially sensitive to the psyches and needs of his clients.

Tony not only manages the salon’s hair restoration business, he designed its premises, creating an inviting and chic interior with six private consultation suites. His robust career aside, Tony claims that being a father and raising twins has been his biggest accomplishment.  His children tease that he’s a “walking jukebox” – a master of trivia about 60’s and 70’s music.  But then he’s also really good at dancing, gardening and cooking, with not a hair out of place!
